THE OBJECTS OF THE SOCIETY

To band churchmen together in a common effort to promote the glory of God, and to help forward the work of the Church.

To deepen the spiritual life of its members.

To encourage the reading and systematic study of the Holy Bible.

To uphold the Christian standard of marriage and family life and to emphasise the responsibility of fatherhood.

To promote fellowship, not only within the society itself and among Church people, but also as far as possible with all Christian people and men of goodwill.

To emphasise that the principals of Christianity must be applied to all human relationships.

As well as events organised locally by individual Parish branches of CIMS, such as that at St Molua's, other events including Quite Days, Annual Outings and Services are organised by the whole Society.

Members of the Society wear their lapel badge with pride, in remembrance of their baptismal vows and as a sign that they are not ashamed to confess the faith of Christ crucified and to manfully fight under his banner against sin, the world and the devil and continue Christ's faithful soldiers and servants until their life's end.

THE RULE OF LIFE

In the power of the Holy Spirit
to pray to God every day,
to be a faithful communicant, and
by active witness, fellowship
and service, to help forward the
Kingdom of Christ

THE C.I.M.S. DAILY PRAYER

O Almighty God, who hast called us to thy service in the fellowship of thy holy Church: Bless we beseech thee, the Church of Ireland Men's Society in all its branches. Make all our members sound in faith and holy in life; bestow on us the spirit of prayer and supplication; grant us by thy love to serve one another; and perfect in us that good work which thou hast begun; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
